We are very pleased to provide details relating to our 2nd Symposium to be held on 23rd April 2020 at Edinburgh Napier University. Experts, researchers, practitioners and students involved in exercise and effects on the immune system in athletes and special populations are invited.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr Rickie Simpson, Associate Professor at University of Arizona. There will also an opportunity for early career researchers and PhD students to present their work.
As with our 1st Symposium, the symposium will provide an informal setting for PhD students and researchers to practice for a more formal occasion and therefore we are happy to accept both new abstracts and abstracts of work that may be being prepared for presentation later in the year at a bigger meeting (e.g. ECSS/ACSM).
To cover costs there is a small registration fee of £50. Please use the link below to register.
We also invite individuals to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Oral presentations will consist of 10 minute presentation, with 5 minutes for questions. When submitting your abstract via email, please indicate whether you prefer oral or poster presentation.
The character allowance for a Communication is 3000 characters. Character
count consists of the title and main body text. References and author
names and addresses do not contribute to the character count. Each special
character, space or punctuation mark counts as one character. Any corrections made
to an abstract that involve additional text will also be deducted from your
character allowance. Your abstract should consist of:
• Author’s names and affiliations
• References (if applicable)
N.B There are no format requirements for reference style.
Please submit your abstract (pdf or word document) to UKSEI@napier.ac.uk by 5pm Friday 28th February, 2020. Please indicate research stage (undergraduate/postgraduate research student/early career researcher/established researcher) of the proposed presenter in the email.
We are hosting a conference social (dinner and drinks) on the Thursday night in Edinburgh. Please email UKSEI@napier.ac.uk if you would like to attend so we can reserve you a space.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all in Edinburgh!
